For this weekend, I’m getting behind the decks for a very special gig: the 1st birthday party of Thomas’s little girl. Yes, that Thomas – my good old friend who still calls me at random hours asking if I remember the time we “almost started a band” (we didn’t, by the way). It’s honestly wild to see him as a dad now, but somehow, he’s absolutely nailing it. And now here we are, about to throw a CoachElla-level party for a one-year-old. Classic Thomas, going all out.
The theme is CoachElla, which, let’s be honest, is hilarious for a crowd that’s going to be 30% toddlers and 70% adults pretending they can still handle festival vibes. We’re talking boho everything: flower crowns, teepee tents, fairy lights – the works. I wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas shows up wearing a fringe jacket and sunglasses, calling himself “Harley Dad.” There’ll be plenty of food, laughter, and probably a lot of chasing after sugar-high kids. It’s the kind of chaos that only Thomas could dream up, and honestly, I’m here for it.
As the DJ, I’m taking my duties very seriously (but not too seriously, don’t worry). The playlist is going to be a mix of chill festival vibes and party classics, with a few baby-friendly jams sprinkled in – because, you know, it’s still her party. I’ve even prepped a remix of “Baby Shark” just in case the kids revolt. Honestly, I couldn’t be more honored to be part of this day. It’s going to be a blast, and if I know Thomas, there will probably be a moment where he grabs the mic and says something ridiculously sentimental that makes everyone laugh-cry. Let’s do this, Thomas. Coa-baby-chElla, here we come!

Again, this type of party is our favorite type of party! Don’t take our word for it though, let the pictures speak for us…
